House placed on Major State Calendar, Speaker Dade Phelan chose to sustain a Democrat point of order, effectively killing the bill by sending it back to committee past the deadline for it to be considered.

HB 65 - Relating to the prosecution and punishment of certain criminal offenses committed in the course of or for the purpose of unlawfully entering the United States, unlawfully bypassing certain law enforcement checkpoints, or evading an arrest or detention; increasing criminal penalties. Property Tax & Inflation Reduction

SB 2 (Special Session #2) - The agreement struck between Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick and House Speaker Dade Phelan on property tax relief. Representative Toth is a cosponsor of this bill.  Signed into law.

HB 268 - Relating to the repeal of or limitations on certain state and local taxes, including school district maintenance and operations ad valorem taxes, the enactment of state and local value added taxes, and related school finance reform; imposing taxes. In House committee.

HB 295 - Relating to the limitation on increases in the appraised value of a residence homestead for ad valorem tax purposes. In committee.

HB 1228 - Relating to the right of a property owner or the owner's agent to receive on request a copy of the information used to appraise the owner's property for ad valorem tax purposes. Signed into law.

HJR 14 - Proposing a constitutional amendment authorizing the legislature to provide that the appraised value of a residence homestead for ad valorem tax purposes for the first tax year that the owner of the property qualifies the property for a residence homestead exemption is the market value of the property and that, if the owner purchased the property, the purchase price of the property is considered to be the market value of the property for that tax year and to limit increases in the appraised value of the homestead for subsequent tax years based on the inflation rate. HB 645 - Relating to prohibiting financial institutions and other businesses from using value-based criteria. In House committee.
